Lindsey Graham Is the Saddest Story in Washington
The New York Times ^ | Oct. 6, 2018 | Frank Bruni

Posted on 10/07/2018 5:52:11 AM PDT by Trump20162020

His fight for Brett Kavanaugh completed his transformation into Donald Trump’s slobbering manservant.

The battle over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court was an especially ugly episode of a reality-show presidency that degrades almost everyone swept up in it, and many characters stagger away from it looking worse than ever.

That’s Senator Lindsey Graham you see at the head of the pack. That’s Graham you hear talking and talking and talking some more, in committee rooms and on stages and before the television cameras that he rushes to the way a toddler chases soap bubbles. His words are whichever ones guarantee a major role and a powerful patron, which means that these days he sounds like a more articulate echo of his golfing buddy: Donald Trump.

That wouldn’t, by itself, be cause to dwell on him. Washington is lousy with lackeys, and not even the maddest of kings thins their ranks.

But Graham is special. He really is. I can’t think of another Republican whose journey from anti-Trump outrage to pro-Trump obsequiousness was quite so illogical or half as sad, and his conduct during the war over Kavanaugh completed it. For the president he fought overtime, he fought nasty and he fought without nuance.

As much as I have disagreed with Graham in the past, I tip my hat to him for showing tough leadership in the Kavanaugh fight. His speech was terrific.

I think Lindsey and the Libs have broken up! That is so sad. They were so good together. Oh well, time to move on.

It never ceases to amaze me that supporters of sexual predator and accused rapist Bill Clinton and his chief enabler, Hillary, are in such an uproar over Kavanaugh.

There is a difference between surrender and joining the winning team. The author clearly doesn’t understand that.

What a screed that it. I try to force myself to read both sides of an article, but to go down the list of foilables and mention greed and misogyny out of one side of his mouth and NOT mention a “Clinton” out of the other side.

Lindsey voted for both of Obama’s nominees. In fact he was the only R to vote the unqualified Sotomayor out of committee. He said at the time (2009) that he disagreed with all of her leftist activism he would “give her a chance to start over”. He was rightfully pissed that the Dems did not return any of his favors. But then again he should have expected that.

Lindsey Graham (and hopefully all of the Republicans) has learned what President Trump has known all along: The Democrats are NOT “our friends on the other side of the aisle”, and it is pointless to try to appease them just so they will like you.

That is a terrific picture!

Lindsay really has the “enjoyment of Liberal Tears” look.

I like Lindsay 2.0 and I hope he stays.

Enjoy the Senate without McCain while you can, everyone. The psychopathic used car salesman, Mitt, is coming, and he is going to be McCain 2.0.

The Homosexual Times rag sheet complaining about Graham slobbering over Trump?

No mention about Chris Mathews fornicating Obama or the woman ‘journalist’ who offered to give Bill Clinton blow jobs in exchange for keeping unrestricted abortion forever.

Every time Frankie Sunshine opens his mouth to speak, you hear a high-pitched whistling sound coming from his anus.

He'll be the Junior Senator from Utah entering a legislative body that has been taught by the President how to win. Anti-Trumpism within the Senate is dead. Flake and Corker are leaving. Murkowski is finished politically. Collins is on board the Trump train. Graham, Cruz, and McConnell have morphed into stalwart enforcers of Trumpism.

Not only have they been taught how to win but Graham and McConnell at least seem to enjoy winning!

I think that if Romney arrives in DC and starts bleating against President Trump, he's not going to find a very warm welcome amongst his Republican Senate colleagues.

I don’t guess this stupid SOB has ever heard of Rand Paul. Real politicians that care for their country leave the primary behind and support their new president. Trump has turned into a great president and he started from day one. President Donald J, Trump has no bigger supporters than Graham and Paul, especially Paul.

Didn't have a problem when Barack did it, did they?
