Graham Challenges Schumer: ‘Name One Person on Trump's Supreme Court List You Think Is Acceptable’
Washington Free Beacon ^ | 10/06/2018 | Andrew Kugle

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) challenged Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) on Sunday to name one person from President Donald Trump's list of potential Supreme Court justices that he finds acceptable.

"This is a list that was compiled in November, but he actually put it out during the campaign," Graham told "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace, as he held up the list. "Twenty something people on this list, asking Chuck Schumer, name five, name three, name one that would be okay with you."

Schumer and fellow Democrats tried to pressure Trump and Republicans to withdraw then Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh after several allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced. Kavanaugh didn't withdraw and was confirmed by the Senate in a close 50-48 vote to be a Supreme Court justice. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R., Alaska) voted "present" to offset her no vote with the absence of her colleague Sen. Steve Daines (R., Mont.). Daines was at his daughter's wedding but was willing to come back to D.C. if his vote was needed. The vote was largely on party lines with Murkowski being the only Republican who didn't vote for Kavanaugh's confirmation, while Sen. Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.) was the lone Democrat voting in favor.

Graham added that Kavanaugh is a mainstream judge that any Republican president would have nominated and that Democrats are trying to undo the 2016 election and prevent conservative jurists from being confirmed.

"Brett Kavanaugh was a mainstream judge. I would've chosen if i had been president, everybody running for president on our side believe that Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch were outstanding conservative jurists. The other side wants to cancel the election,"

The rest of the Senate needs to go on the Graham diet:

Raw meat and Red Bulls.

Call me cynical, but I think I’ll wait to see if this is just a head fake, or a passing political fad, before I post any serious comment on Senator Graham’s apparent “conversion.”

If we show up in November and give the GOP victory, it will embolden Graham and he’ll know we’re with him.

If we stay home, then Graham will revert.

It’s up to us.

WHERE?!?!? Where was THIS Lindsey Graham for the last several years??

Here's my take.

During the course of the impeachment and trial, Graham decided he wanted to be a US Senator rather than part of the nameless/faceless HoR.

So, McCain took Graham under his wing and told Graham that he would watch his back and help him, but in return McCain needed to know that Graham had his back.

Graham being the honorable man he is, took the deal and kept his word to back McCain.

The agreement died with McCain and now Graham is free to act as he sees fit.

I don't know whether this is what really happened, but it makes perfect sense to me.

I’m still convinced that the Dems think Kavanaugh is too intelligent and will influence the whole Court by pointing out logical arguments and making the liberal judges and clerks look like fools. I think that is the core of this mess.

Good answer. Yesterday Chucky Boy even said so much that he would oppose ANY nominee from Trump. The FrankBurns weasel needs a good slug in the jaw. I would love to see Graham do it.

Is it that Graham, the JAG officer/Senator, may be auditioning for AG?

Yeah, I'll believe it when he crosses to the border to the American side of the immigration issue.

He went away when he left the House, became a Senator and got chummy with McCain.

McCain assumed room temp and he came back.

Another reason we'd need a solid majority in the Senate, so that Graham can make that move. I'd love to see it.

Graham imprints on the strongest personality around and follows them through hell or high water.

In the House it was Newt.

In the Senate it was McCain.

And now it looks like it is Trump.

Handy little sock puppet isn't he!

Name One Person on Trump's Supreme Court List You Think Is Acceptable’

Although I loved the idea of listing the possible nominee's (and its a great list!) during the campaign, my fear is that the deep state now has a game plan similar to the mess we just went thru, for every name that is on the list. Once the next nominee is announced, they will pull out the folder and the crazies will be activated.

There's no one acceptable to Schumer on the list. Never will be.

I'm sick of our side fighting by Marquess of Queensberry Rules while democrats are using brass knuckles and kicking us in the groin. We should have fought against Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. I'm sure they weren't perfect in high school... Why not interview their best girlfriends when they were 16? Bet both of 'em betrayed a friend or cheated on a school test or something...

If democrat goons ever take back the Presidency we should fight their nominees every step of the way... NOT ONE VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS without a battle... We can even hire 'rent-a-mob' hysterical women to scream at democrats...

AND we should fight whoever they elect for President (if they ever elect a President) and not accept that President as legitimate.

OR

OR

WE CAN DEFEAT THEM AT THE NEXT ELECTION AND KEEP OUR DIGNITY... I don't want us to become as horrible as they are... not ever.
