Time to take away some that power. Reverse NYT v. Sullivan such that a public figure has the same right to sue for libel as a private citizen.

Sullivan, of course, preserved the right of a public figure to sue for defamation; it just wisely added the safeguard that defendant must be shown to have acted with "actual malice" (which includes reckless disregard of the truth).

Many legal scholars (but probably not those 2500+ purported legal profs that petitioned against his confirmation) believe Justice Kavanaugh would have no problem demonstrating actual malice.
