The missing Interpol chief, Meng Hongwei, who it was revealed on Sunday has been detained in China for 12 days unknown to his family or employer, has resigned from the international police agency.
Interpol said it had received his resignation with immediate effect late on Sunday. It was the latest twist in the mystery of Mengs disappearance last month after he flew from France to China.
In a terse statement on Sunday evening, the Chinese authorities had admitted they were holding Meng under investigation by a new government anti-corruption unit for suspected violations of the law.

Too late. He should know better than to hang out there.

How could Interpol pick that guy to be its Chief? The guy had numerous positions in the ChiCom govt!
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Interpol's work focuses primarily on crimes against humanity, child pornography, cybercrime, drug trafficking, environmental crime, genocide, human trafficking, illicit drug production,[copyright infringement, missing people, illicit traffic in works of art, intellectual property crime, money laundering, organized crime, corruption, terrorism, war crimes, weapons smuggling, and white-collar crime.
The new (interim) president of Interpol is one Kim Jong Yang of South Korea.
Fan Bing Bing has company ...
China apparently has many re-education camps.
What a wonderful thing for Trump to note as he bashes China.
Red China calling home another agent ?
Trump will no doubt be very interested in these events !
There used to be a commercial with a doctor who messes up his French to the French Police:
He meant to say: “Je suis un medecin” (I am a doctor)
but he says:
“Je suis un espion” (I am a spy)
They arrest him. LOL

If I had to guess I’d lean towards an attempted, ahem, “business transaction” with a female. Possibly some illegal substance but who knows.
Or maybe he was looking too closely at Scotland Yard’s E-fit images of Madeleine McCann’s abductors....(just joking - mostly)
It should be OBVIOUS to everyone that China is merely returning another one of its SPIES back to the homeland.
Well now, iffen the chinks say he’s guilty.................
China-watchers I trust haven’t commented on this... which is even more strangeness.
My question also.
Interpol has a long history of strong leadership
Let the FBI investigate if DiFi’s Chinese driver had anything to do with the affair.
INTERPOL has a statement up:
Pretty much: “Nothing to see here!” LOL!
What's the purpose of that?
