Watched the 10/05/2018 episode of "Firing Line" on PBS. Host Margaret Hoover had NRA prez Oliver North as her guest. He confirmed the earlier news stories that the NRA is fighting for its financial existence against lawsuits brought by NY gov. Andrew Cuomo. My takeaway from this episode was that the NRA will not be active in this mid-term election - a very bad sign.

I have received numerous phone calls and flyers from the NRA regarding the 2018 elections. They will be active. I gave them $250 and will probably give more. I trust them more than the NRC.
