for pete’s sake, Britain was literally fighting for it’s national life in 1943. The Germans were constantly bombing the island nation and preparing for an invasion. I can’t imagine much attention being paid to any other part of the Empire.

Of course, Obama hated his guts and had a statue of Churchill (bust) removed from the Oval Office and returned to England.

Bombing yes. And it was worse in 44' with the V-1 and V-2.

But the Germans were incapable of invasion in 1940 and it was the stuff of fantasy in 43'.

And Britain's entire strategy in 43' was saving the Empire.

Churchill wanted another invasion in the Mediterranean and was obsessed with protecting the Suez canal in 43'.
