Trump was astute.
He *KNEW* that they’d find nothing on Kavanaugh. The guy is beyond a boy scout. He’s squeaky clean.
By agreeing to it, they could not accuse him of partisan politics or hiding something, or protecting Kavanaugh, or a whole list of other things they’d try to slam him with..
It was his way of appearing gracious and accommodating at no cost to himself, Kavanaugh, or the Republicans. No mud they slung at him would stick to him.
I think it backfired on them big time.
And judging by the look on Feinstein’s face after the report was read, it did more than clear Kavanaugh.
I suspect that it may have revealed way more than intended, stuff that would hurt the dems based on how quick she was to then want the FBI investigation held and then the results not released.
Trump knew what he was doing all along.
Wonder if this timeline was in that report.
HOW MANY people could really survive this scrutiny?
i couldn’t. They’d have me kicked out the first day.
It seems like when you’re a Trump pick you need to have led an UTTERLY flawless life.
Not so easy to live up to.
Reminds me (sort of) of a Rodney Dangerfield quote from “Back to School”
“If I don’t take the exam, they’ll kick me out. If I DO take it, who knows WHERE they’ll kick me!!”
