Truck drivers,in Iran are continuing their nationwide strike for 16th consecutive day, now spreading to over 310 cities in all of the country's 31 provinces According to NCRI Report : "On Sunday, October 6, the powerful strike of thousands of drivers of heavy trucks and truckers, despite the constant threats and deceptive promises and strike-breaking actions of the regime, as well as the arrest of a large number of them, entered its third week. The regime's criminal prosecutor, Montazeri, threatened strikers on September 29 to "severe punishments and executions," and mullah Larijani, the had henchman of the regime's judiciary, said on October 1 that those who are abusing the demands of truckers to undermine road safety would be severely punished. Before that, the Revolutionary Guards Corps news agency said that "more than 90 percent of the country's goods transport is done through road transport," and wrote: "Opposition groups are exploiting this capacity and are trying to prevent the truckers from loading and entering the roads so that goods remain at the terminals and ports and do not reach the people, thus causing dissatisfaction in the population and to harm country's economy and people's psychological safety "(Fars News Agency, September 27). Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, hailed the noble striking drivers and called on the general public, especially the youth, to support and express solidarity with them. She described arrests and repressive measures against drivers as indicative of the vulnerability of the mullahs regime to the united strike of drivers and truckers, adding that the ruling clerics are the greatest thieves in Iran's history who neither want nor can answer legitimate demands of striking drivers."
Please write to your Congressmen and to the White House. The duly elected Iranian dictatorship is in need of more financial support. Hussein Obama’s $200 billion much of it in unmarked cash was apparently not enough
First, the Obama deal was $150 billion released, with only $1.8 billion in cash (dollars, Euro).
Second, the Obama cash more or less...got flushed down to Iranian banks, and business owners (people with bank holdings) took the cash and flushed it by any means possible out of the country, because they anticipate the collapse of the banking sector and fear their holdings will just disappear.
I’ve talked to Iranians who’ve left in the past two years and they all say the same story...the nation is stagnant...zero business growth...construction projects have zeroed out...no trust in the government to manage banking....and a collapse expected. Even if the international community arrived with cash to ‘save’ the banks...people would just walk in and try to remove more of their assets, and ship it out of the country for safe-keeping. So trying to save the sinking ship...would just send it further into chaos.
Iranians want al-Madi 12
to come back
who doesn’t get that?
Rocky
Deliveries of containers to the ports themselves are going to be disrupted by the next wave of sanctions, on November 1st. This will be on top of a big drop in oil revenue to the regime that happens then.
November is going to crank up the pressure a lot. Shortages and budget cutbacks will grow.
Most Iranians are modern and pro-Western. They are prisoners of a brutal regime (a dictatorship in practice) that executes people at one of the highest rates on Earth.

Won’t Iran just start shooting drivers until they get back to work?
Brazil was the latest example.
Iran (Persia) is a large country with many diverse peoples. It would be helpful if a political map was posted along with a list of those provinces mentioned here
Agreed. I have Iranian friends and work colleagues. All great people. Their government needs to be overthrown. It will change the Middle East and the world. Thanks Jimmy Carter.
So they’ve parked their camels?
They’ve gone “Full French”.
That’s a biggie! Thanks for the tip, Hassan.
