Leftist San Francisco becomes a drug dealer's paradise

If you ever wondered why pricey San Francisco has become such a morass of homeless drug addicts, squalor, and City poop patrols cleaning up at them, look no further than its leftwing policies on drug deales.

It's absolutely the home of lenience to criminals, according to an excellent column on the problem by the San Francisco Chronicle's Heather Knight. In an interview with a cop, she wrote:

“It’s almost impossible to get convicted in this city,” said Healy, who works in the Police Department’s narcotics division. “The message needs to be sent that it’s not OK to be selling drugs. It’s not allowed anywhere else. Where else can you walk up to someone you don’t know and purchase crack and heroin? Is there such a place?”

And the problem is getting bad:

You can walk through the Tenderloin, Civic Center, South of Market and the Mission and easily spot men handing over little plastic baggies with drugs in exchange for cash like it’s no big thing. In broad daylight. In front of pedestrians. Even in front of police.

The column focuses on the fears homeless people have of drug dealers as they occupy and take over their public toilets, their showers and their places to pay rent checks.

The lefty mayor, London Breed, has absolutely no plans to do anything about it.

Oh and surprise, surprise, the problem is growing. The drug dealers are now rolling in from Oakland and Richmond to take advantage of the zero-consequences policies.

They need to go to visit Moonbeam in Sacramento and his cohorts in the CA Assembly. IMO, they’ve been sniffing something for years.

Oakland even subsidizes loans to minorities looking to get into the pot grow biz, like it’s some type of civil rights campaign. It’s ridiculous.

Dealers need users. There must be a ton of ‘em there if it is a dealer’s paradise.

There must be a ton of ‘em there if it is a dealer’s paradise.

Let's look at some facts.

"The Public Works Department and a nonprofit organization in the Tenderloin picked up 100,000 needles from the streets over the past year. The Public Health Department, which has its own needle recovery program, has a more alarming figure: It retrieved 164,264 needles in August alone, both through a disposal program and through street cleanups."

the pot grow biz

Irrelevant to the article, which is about illegal drug dealing. Licensed pot selling is legal in CA.

According to the district attorney’s office, it prosecutes 88 percent of drug-dealing cases, but the courts regularly release the suspects while their cases are pending.

The worst possible drug policy is to keep it illegal and thus monopolized by criminals, but not enforce those laws so the criminals act with impunity.

Vacations are booked in advance. CONVENTIONS are booked even further in advance.

Since conventions re cancelling their SF destinations, it will take YEARS for SF to get back to normal, even if they EVER
get back to decent.
