My problem is, that in the back of my mind, is that the voters who knew what Obama was, voted him in for a second term.

Obama had very weak opposition, both times.

Also, people are unlikely to boot an incumbent if things seem mostly OK. Things have to be really bad for voters in the mushy middle to do that. Just in principle.

“Don’t rock the boat” is an election principle that’s always been there.

Agreed. Trump would have been calling him out over Jeremiah Wright and the community organizer stuff from day one.

Obama made the “po me” bit work. Blacks looked at him, then looked down at their own arms and voted for him, along with Whites who saw his election as a way to “get right” with the whole bull$hit issue of “race.” I guess somewhere along the line, Dr. King’s message about “character over color” got lost for 8 years. The Obama P-residency was designed to pit every group we have against every other. Blacks allowed themselves to be co-opted into fighting mindless “racial battles” at Obama’s behest, while they didn’t get a f*cking extra nickel for their trouble.

Besides Obama being elected to a second term ,don't forget Hillary got more votes than Trump in the last presidential election.
Fortunately the electoral college decides the presidency.

I just can't get enthusiastic about the USA voting public.
Maybe seeing how the voters in my state( Mass. ) conduct them selves is what makes me somewhat skeptical about the USA voters. -Tom

Bear in mind that we can barely tolerate our GOPee globalist crony-capitalist sellouts. Can't imagine why someone even less conservative could stomach the likes of McCain and Romney. We only got Kavenaugh because a bunch of us told the pubbies running the Senate they had too choices, take bullets from the front - from the opposition - or take bullets from behind, from us. We must have been rather convincing because, for once, we got her done.
