The idiom chink in ones armor refers to an area of vulnerability. It has traditionally been used to refer to a weak spot in a figurative suit of armor. The standard meaning is similar to that of Achilles heel.[1]
Grammarist provides a sample usage by The Daily Telegraph that they find acceptable:[2] Such hype was anathema for the modest professional fighter, who has 22 victories under his belt, and not a perceptible chink in his armour.

Ron Darling absolutely did not men anything racist by that comment. Only a total effing idiot would think he did.
Shame on his employer, who apparently forced this apology.
To: Jeff Chandler
And as any Mets fan knows Ron Darling is part Chinese. And if anyone is still uncertain about what t by e goal is, google Zero Day and The Man in the High Castle.

I yearn for the days when Joe DiMaggio proudly called himself by his self-deprecating nickname: "The Big Dago."
Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? A nation turns its lonely eyes to you.

Let’s follow the logic.
Putting aside the fact that he used the word chink, not the term in the racist slur context, we accept that it is unacceptable to use it.
Darling himself is Chinese.
Therefore the common belief that blacks are allowed to use the N word is no longer valid.

Well, that turned into a real Chinese Fire Drill, didn’t it.
And I guess references to the HMS Hood sinking will have to be torn from the history books.

A nip in the armor? Hmm... It will take a little getting used to... I think that would hurt.
