AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO OUR CUSTOMERS AND FRIENDS
As most of you know, on Saturday, October 6, 2018, there was a tragic accident in Schoharie, New York, in which a limousine apparently failed to stop at an intersection, struck a parked vehicle and came to rest in a small ravine, killing the driver and all seventeen passengers aboard, as well as two bystanders in the parking lot of an adjacent business. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the deceased.
It has been reported that the limousine in question was owned and operated by a business from Gansevoort, New York, also named Prestige Limousine, a business with which we have no connection whatsoever.
To our great shock and dismay, I learned that it was reported on one of the network news morning programs that the owner and operator of the limousine involved was our business, Prestige Limousine Service, and that an image of our facility was also broadcast, with the logical result and intended effect that we were responsible for the accident and the resulting deaths.
This news story and any other news story implicating our business are false.
Neither our vehicles and nor our drivers were involved in this incident.
This false story was broadcast, despite my emphatic denial to the reporter before the story was run and the damage to our reputation done.
The information as to the correct ownership of the vehicle in question could have easily been verified before this destructive story was broadcast.
I am proud of the fifty years of safe, reliable and professional service we have provided our customers.
We follow all applicable rules and regulations, have in place all necessary insurance, thoroughly train our drivers and regularly inspect and maintain our fleet of vehicles. We value your business and assure you that we had no involvement in this tragic event. Thank you for your understanding.
