I think Ashley Estes was only 6 years older than the Bush twins.

Dubya and Laura were at the wedding.

I'm thinking "honorary daughter unit". She got the job as his PERSONAL secretary through sheer competence.

It makes sense why he went to bat for the Judge.

I thought it was for HIM until my mother unwittingly dropped that tidbit [she's not a Political - she just loves Kavanaugh because he's a Catholic].

Checked it out, and now my read is that the Left effed up BIGLY.

Dubya probably has skin in this game, now - after President Trump did his thing to protect Ashley Kavanaugh.

I'm going to watch Dubya and his footsoldiers closely till the election.

I think there are cell phones ringing, and it ain't good for the SlimeLeft...

Good post, AW...I think Kavanaugh will turn out better than you think. He is going to be ostracized by the Left, specifically the Media and Law Schools which are largely liberal. He won't be invited to the cocktail parties. He won't be invited to speak at Law Schools.

I think he is going to be a conservative who got mugged by the Left, and will carry that around with him.

I had concerns about his stances on surveillance, but given what has happened with the spying on Trump, I can see where he might reexamine his own views.

But he will be far better than the man he replaced. Now, onto the next one...

Interesting....so I’d just assume then the Bush people also used some political leverage when this confirmation started spinning out of control. I think there was a lot of that happening we’ll never know about.......and this in pretty much all aspects of these political fights for power.

We know that political parties plan at least 5 yrs ahead of elections....stacking the deck and determining how they want things to go. It’s no accident Clintons and Obama’s are ‘Touring’ what they’re calling ‘arenas’ up ahead. All to sustain the political “currency” for the 2020 election.....and to counter Trumps administration on the International Front

Also could be looked at that THEY are pulling Trump into their GOP-E orbit as they have well learned they can’t win otherwise....even though he’ll still play it to get what he wants he will surely at times look like he’s yielding he will only do so if there’s a bigger gain in what he wants.

Stay flexible is one of the keys we need to keep in mind and not jump too soon by how things might look to us.... Trump is ultimately is calling the shots.

I always tell people that I know a lot about DC politics - and that I know only about 60% of what's going on at best.

I tell THEM that they know about 20% - if they're paying attention...

Ihe Kavanaughs are the epitome of all that is good, righteous, wholesome and virtuous in America.

I appreciate what you're saying, but this is the kind of comment the Dems salivate for. They first stereotype Conservative nominees as "wholesome and virtuous" so they can then spend their time accusing them of being hypocrites because they, for example, drink that demon BEER. It plays right into their hands.

Better just to say the Kavanaugh's are a normal American family, with their problems and their foibles just like any other American family. Building them up to be paragons of virtue just invites the opposition to attempt to gleefully tear them down, as they tried to do with now-Justice Kavanaugh.

I don’t see how her living another year. There’s a very thin line between wellness and illness in old people. It sounds like her heart is fine. Cancer can be an issue, but more like;y is infection flu, pneumonia etc that hits.

She does not look well, and I am sure the liberals have her propped up to work until she drops which really is not right is it, Folks.

Sotomyer looks like your typical DM patient who can’t stop the sweets. If she’s had any, even one foot lesion, that would be a bad sign.

Brewer too, looks a bit feeble.

Trump, could easily have 2 to 3 more picks during his tenure....

This ceremony tonight was amazing. Once again, our president sets the tone for decency and respect to our institutions.

Our country, finally.... and I mean finally again is in sound hands.

I can only speculate that it’s vascular. She could be suffering from Raynaud’s, but that wouldn’t be life threatening. she’s like a hummingbird. The older people get, the tinier they get, so it really prolongs life. I suspect she eats like a bird. No question, she is not writing or giving opinions, you have clerks doing that.

So, in other words, to serve on the SCOTUS you just have to be alive and kicking.

Trump, if reelected in 2020 will serve to 2024. So, RBG will SERVE 6 Moore years? Seriously?

Can you picture JEb or Mittens sticking to the Dems like Trump does?

the days are over. No more pretty boys as POTUS. He’s raised the bar so high it’s a whole new ball game.

Having said that, Pence, I am sure, is taking notes, and will be a great president in his own right. NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT.

McConnell is beaming. I am sure he loves our president. Ryan never got it. I’m sure he’s got his tell all BS book in the works right now.

Trump brings the best out in our people, but in time, it will be all AMERICANS too. He’s is consistent. You can’t deny that.
