People in Hollywood believe in fairy tales because that is basically the business they are in.

That said, people living in large cities are prone to believing in the same fairy tales because they exist in a fabricated, contrived world and are fed such fairy tales by the media and Hollywood.

I know because I spent my career in large cities and now live in a small town. When I lived in large cities, I quickly forgot how life was lived in small towns and on farms (which are closer to the cutting edge of life--places where the sausages are actually made, so to speak).

Living in an artificial reality makes one an easy target for artificial political ideologies that are based on fairy tales (utopian ideologies).

You can see where this is going.

Redford is a highly overrate actor in my opinion.

He was cute. The girls liked him ... and some of the guys.

"Ya just gotta note the atheists’ despisal of anything morally sound. They act like killing mass murderers is the end of the world all the while they consider ethically good the mass killing of innocent defenseless little boys and girls to the tune of 1.3 per second, albeit executed by their own mothers. I suppose this is the “bigotry” exemplified by the Kavanaugh appointment, the possibility of a ProLife decision or two. Of course the pantywaist didn’t dare come out and say it, explicitly, because he’s been feminized far too long. A little tongue-in-cheek commentary is all it could muster up."

Someone tell him he is out of place. Maybe that’s why he feels like it.

Once again, a moron speaks. One that lives in super affluent, uber white, extremely secure neighborhoods. I’m pretty sure that Aspen, Park City and wherever else he lives is pretty f*cking secure, lots of cops-gated complexes-armed bodyguards and gate guards, and WHITE.

Start using eminent domain and old fashioned guilt trips into allowing muslims, illegals aliens and refugees into those plush neighborhoods. Let them live with the consequences of the policies and politicians they support. Let’s see how kind, caring and compassionate they are when these folks aren’t living miles away in a ghetto and only show up to mow the grass.

I feel out of place in this country also.

Look around and see beloved towns and cities trashed.

See a social engineering and structure that is more Babaloyian than American.

See an education system that is broken beyond repair.

Yes he is correct.

Politics aside, he’s an overrated actor. There are plenty of actors, who I know are extremely liberal, that I feel are brilliant at their work. Redford is not one of them. He’s always been mediocre.

Tough sh!t little Robbie boy. Those of us who aren’t part of Democrat freak show felt that way every day of the 28 years of Bushes, Clinton and the execrable turd 0bama destroying the American dream except for their corporate cronies - gradually (and not so gradually in the case of the turd) shifting the country amay from a land where the people enjoyed freedom to a land where the purpose of the people was to provide the means to fulfill the whims of the politicians and bureaucrats. Away from a government that represented the people to a government that ruled the people.

I have to admit , enjoyed to movie All is Lost.
Single handed sailing and runs into trouble. Some terrific photography.
Don’t recall one speaking line in the movie.

The country he was born into had rules, restricted borders, respect for the police and since 1950’s greatness and prosperity for all, civil rights, and many more opportunities than I can think of. I was very happy in the country I was born in as well (even though it was NJ!). I am saddened by the world Odomo brought us into and the world the communist leftists want us to live in. What is it that Redford wants? He is happy with unpatriotic behavior, disrespect for police, trade deals that rape American workers, unqualified people entering this nation just to suck up our resources?

Trump fixed all that, the economy is on fire with jobs and growth for Americans of all color. Manufacturing is surging. Stock market at all-time highs. What the hell is it that ungrateful bastard doesn’t like? I guarantee you, like his liberal friend, Streisand, his private beach doesn’t allow ANYONE on it. This puke never had to work a day in his pampered life and lived a life of luxury. I hope to hell he goes to Venezuela, a country he seems he would like to emulate here. Perhaps if he had served his country instead of merely reaping its benefits, he would be much more appreciative of what America really is. It is GREAT AGAIN and I, for one, am very proud of our President and our country and especially the recent spine the GOP leadership has recently developed.

When I’m seeking guidance on subjects like decency, morality, civility and character I always turn first to people who are making a living by pretending.

Then make that sound - the sound of those we don’t like moving to another country...Venezuela can use some more tools.

“I feel out of place in the country I was born into.”

Right, Bob. So do I, and most of us of our generation. It's called ‘getting old.’

“We don't have to share the same motivations to want the same outcomes.”

You are missing the point, Robert. I, and the people young and old that I agree with politically, do NOT want the same outcomes as the persons who just recently disgraced themselves (and the whole Democratic Party with them), by their unsubstantiated, vitriolic personal attacks on a distinguished public servant and jurist who had been nominated to a seat on the Supreme Court. They, and folks like me, do not merely not share the same motivations, we apparently do not even understand each others’ motivations; we do not seem to belong to the same communities, nor want to; they certainly do not respect me, and my right to hold and express my opinions; I do not see them calling for anything I understand as justice. There is nothing left to do but fight it out to the bitter end, at the ballet box if it is still possible to settle this peaceably; in the streets and fields and battlegrounds if they refuse to accept the results of elections, as they have for the last 2 years.
