"Jus soli" combined with "jus sanguinis" had been the gold standard for Natural Born Citizenship right up until Obama. "Law of the soil" and "Law of the blood". Every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is in the language of your Constitution itself a natural born citizen. At least, that's what folks in John Bingham's generation believed. Forgetting that is what brought the disgrace of Obama upon this nation ... our own Obamanation. We would do well to return the wisdom of our forefathers and see that none with mixed allegiance ever again assume the mantle of power and authority granted to the United States.

Graham will be AG after midterms.

Graham has said he has zero interest in being in Trump’s cabinet.

Nope, won’t happen. She’s not eligible and has no more chance of winning than Warren or Harris. At least Warren is eligible. Besides, Haley’s not much of a conservative anyway.

Graham has three choices: Chair of judiciary committee, replace McConnell, or AG. Any would be good, he’s in a great position. McConnell probably saved himself for a bit by getting Kavanaugh through but has to wonder whether to leave now on high note or face his Trump with his Never Trump no votes on the wall, Obamacare, immigration reform, etc. They can’t keep kicking the can down the road forever.

Graham can only chair Judiciary if Grassley goes to Finance chair. Since Grassley came to Judiciary chair from Finance chair, I doubt that’s happening. However, deals in the Senate can certainly be made!

I watched the press conference. It’s amazing how he won her over by seeing, nurturing and deploying her talents, garnering her a much higher stage in life on which to operate. He is a coach extraordinaire. I was so turned of off his marriage dramas in the 90s, but watching The Apprentice for ten years showed me what a great leader he is, how he demands and gets respect and helps people focus their skills and talents on the important stuff. At the end of my long and challenging career as a trailblazer for women in publishing, I sat there watching him and wishing I had ever—ever—had a boss like that.

I think Thomas Jefferson once remarked how important it is to go with people’s strengths and not get embroiled in the small stuff. That is executive leadership.

Christians are taught to recognized that no one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. What’s important is accountability for those things and continuting onward to use the gifts and talents we are given. It makes reconciliation possible. Haley was a right bitch to Trump during the early days of the campaign. Now look. He won her heart, which she kept laying her hand upon during her several thank-you’s to him at the press conference.

After seeing how Trump has publicly humiliated Sessions (deserved or not), I can’t imagine any senator chomping at the bit to work for Trump.

You obviously are not the quality material needed for the job. You dwell on the negative.

Trump priasrs far more than he puts Dow.

I like Trump, but wouldn’t want to work for him.

My point is that it would suck to give up a plumb job like being a Senator to (potentially) endure that kind of abuse.

It’s “champing” at the bit and good. Sessions is a lowlife and if he is indicative of how a Senator will serve in the administration, we don’t want any more.
