Pretty good genes. Be fun to hot tub with her. Cocktails under a moonless night sky.

Only way I would vote for Nikki is if she gave out Confederate Flag pins, and she ain’t gonna do that.

“Former New Hampshire US senator Gordon Humphrey said he would vote for Clinton largely because of his feelings about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

“On Tuesday, millions of lifelong Republicans will vote against Donald Trump. I’m one of them,” Humphrey said in a Clinton campaign video released Sunday afternoon. “For the sake of our families’ safety, let’s stand together against Donald Trump by voting for Hillary Clinton. It’s the responsible thing to do.”

The idea that Humphrey would back a Democratic presidential candidate is a stunning development in New Hampshire politics. During his time in the US Senate from 1978 to 1990 and his two runs for governor after returning from Washington, he has been ruthless in his criticism of Democrats.

He has also not recently faded away from the Republican Party. He was a major backer of Tea Party efforts in the state a few years ago and attended the Republican National Convention in July as a John Kasich delegate.

However, all year he has been a chief Republican Trump critic. At the party’s national convention he was a leader of an effort that would have made it harder procedurally for Trump to become the nominee.

While Humphrey has walked away from Trump, the man who replaced him in the US Senate, former senator Bob Smith, is enthusiastically endorsing Trump and has spoken at many recent Trump rallies in the state.

“I am going to assume now that Senator Humphrey is not going to get a position in the Trump administration now,” Smith joked when informed of the news. “I am disappointed.”

Of course, Smith, too, knows a thing or two about the endorsing a Democrat for president. In 2004, he endorsed John Kerry over then-President George W. Bush.

Thanks. I thought I had remembered Bob Smith as being a good guy, and was surprised at seeing him linked with Gordon Humphrey.

Looked it up and he hasn’t been in office for 28 years - left the Senate in 1990. He also left the Republican Party in 2016. Why this is a news story is beyond me.

No relation to Hubert Humphrey.

Back when New Hampshire sent Republicans to Congress, Humphrey was the more conservative Senator and Warren Rudman was the more liberal one.

Now that the state's gone Democrat the old Republicans have gotten a little unhinged.

Rudman got more praise from Democrats than from Republicans.

Humphrey left the US Senate to serve in the NH State Senate.

I could have told him that was not a smart move.

Bob Smith, his successor, got into third party and write-in politics.

Now the state only sends Democrats to Congress.

Smith was, in the end, very egotistical & selfish. Old man Sununu’s kid took him out.

NH has had some terrible GOP senators. Judd Gregg, Warren Rudman. So sad to see the state flipped these days.

Well. There’s bad NH senators... and then there’s what we elect here in California which is probably a level of bad that others can only dream of achieving...

Yes...it’s terrible out there. My cousin just moved away from California several years ago after over 30 years of raising a family & building a business.

He just gave up. Crime & taxes killed him. He’s in Maine now with his new business & doing very well. Those 10 jobs are gone from California along with another productive family.

As Americans flee the 3rd world pours in. Which is one reason why we elect who we do in California. We are the vanguard of the Whitey Is The Devil revolution.

It’s a nightmare. In the 1950s & 1960s there was no better lifestyle in the world than that perfect 100-mile deep strip of land running along the California coast. Of course, you know it having lived it.

My cousin was about 6 or 7 years away from retirement when he just gave up & moved to New England. Difficult, but it’s worked out for him. Funny thing is...the rest of his family is also on the way to Maine now. His kids, their kids, in-laws....everyone.

When they all get there it will be like 20 more productive people out the door.

I have indeed witnessed the decline and fall of what once was a good state for Americans to live in. They are not needed here anymore, ever since the GOPe and Obamacrats decided California is better off without them.

What city did your cousin live in?

He lived in Stockton. I never visited him, but he tells me that the city is a mess. He moved there in the late 1980s & he says that it’s like night & day. Not the same place.

Haley announced her resignation as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations on Tuesday. She opposed Trump in 2016, contributing to suspicion about her departure, which will take effect later this year.

They really can't help[ themselves...had to put that it and ignore that Trump nominated her and she did his bidding at the UN...not to mention praising him/his policies in her resignation letter and on TV...while saying she will support him in 2020....this washed up ex-politico must have been caught on the dem Twilight Zone train...
