““Slave Owner” should be the first 2 words on every Demonrats headstone or monument.”

George Washington was not a Democrat.

Why not just skip playing the slavery card altogether, unless you have a purpose in shaming the slave states: New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Delaware, and Maryland.

Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia were slave states too - don't ever forget to cast 4/13ths responsibility in their direction.

In fact, of the 13 original states, 13 of them were slave states.

You are absolutely correct.

My comment was an indictment of the current slave-holders.

Why waste time, in this critical election, with the sort of fanatics, who make suggests that we deface other people's monuments or heritage?

This election strategy must be based on respect for our heritage; respect for the values--the aspiratory values--that once made us the envy of the world.

People who would besmirch James Monroe's memory, would just as logically force an insulting epithet into every Biblical reference to a Patriarch, holding bondsmen; to one of the Legendary Kings of Europe who held serfs. The writer may have an emotional problem with history, but it is a diversion from real issues, that will determine America's tomorrow--if any!!.
