No, I just admire him. But my g-grandfather’s eldest brother was present at Fredericksburg when The Gallant Pelham earned his sobriquet for shelling the Union lines with his two cannon.

However the 13th Mississippi were up at the Sunken Road while Pelham was at the far end of the field so I don’t know that Pvt Stroud would have witnessed the show.

Wasn't it the 13th Mississippi that contested the Feds' crossing of the river at Fredericksburg, or am I thinking of another unit?

The brother of my gg-grandfather was there as well, in the 4th Texas, Hood's Brigade.
