The Constitution protects a free press. We have corporate media, and they are not the same in my opinion.

The constitution also protects speech but you can’t yell fire in ancrowded theater. So there are limits on free speech. If the press is allowed to make stuff up about people in order to destroy them, it seems like they should be able to sue.

Great post...however, this should not be left up to the Court...the Congress should attack this problem with a specific law that leaves no one in doubt that prosecutions will go forward for those who knowingly lie to hurt other people.

I hope that this libel can be stopped by the courts. Then we can sue MSNBC, CNN and Hillary Clinton for calling us Nazis, homophobes, bigots, deplorables, etc. It will be a class action.
