My opinion is that this particular “leak” comes from Rosenstein.
These arrogant and crazy sob’s questioned Trump’s behavior, while they fought like kindergartners over who should lead the coup! They are disgraceful.

RosenWeasel illegally appointed Mueller to investigate no crime, but maybe some counterintel threads based on Rosy signing a 3rd extension of the FISA app that had had no investigative updates to determine its veracity over the last 9 months..

McCabe just didn’t accept that Rosenstein and Muller were running the partisan witch hunt so he started one of his own.

I believe you are correct. This story is being circulated by Rosenstein to make it is appear that he and Mueller are less corrupt and biased than the already disgraced McCabe.
Rosenstein and Mueller are walking the same road to perdition as McCabe, just a few steps behind their friend.
They are now fighting over who was ‘for’ or ‘against’ the coup.

Thanks for excerpting the whole story. Note to readers: this came from the Washington Post. So, who planted it and who is it meant to help or harm? Or is it just to stir up trouble?
A narrative out there says that Rosenstein appointed Mueller as SC specifically to push the rabidly partisan McCabe out of the “Russia” investigation. This story supports that by showing McCabe struggling to continue his coup efforts anyway. Yet the attempt to disconnect the Jill McCabe campaign, and thus Andrew McCabe, from Hillary is pro-McCabe spin. Autumn 2015 to May 2017 = 1.6 years; that’s hardly “years ago”. And Hillary herself headlined the event used to collect about $500,000 for Jill McCabe’s campaign.
When McCabe continued his attack on Trump, Rosenstein’s appropriate action would have been to inform the President, fire McCabe immediately, then fire every successor until one wasn’t part of the coup. Might have taken a few hundred. I am not a Rosenstein fan, but consider it possible that he did inform Trump. Best evidence: McCabe’s gone; Rosenstein’s still on the job.
The comey firing was inevitable, so Rosenstein and the deepstate PTB pushed it along and then appointed a special counsel. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

IMO, Trump has Rosie by the short-and-curlies over his coup role and Mueller works for RR. So Trump pwns both of them now.
