With the election less than a month away, Gov. Andrew Cuomo still hasnt agreed to a single debate with Republican challenger Marc Molinaro.
Critics who include Democrats say thats not how democracy should operate.
The opponent is not Donald Trump. The opponent in Marc Molinaro, said City Councilman Ruben Diaz Sr (D-Bronx). Stop hiding! Show the people why you deserve a third term.

I think there are dormice out there with bigger balls than Cuomo
he’s a zillion points ahead. it would be politically retarded to debate.
I mean, cuomo is a crook and a coward. but he isn’t stupid.
Why should he? It was a mistake for Stephen Douglas to debate Abraham Lincoln. It was a mistake for Richard Nixon to debate Jack Kennedy. It was a mistake for Hillary Clinton to debate Donald Trump. It’s not Cuomo’s job to help Molinaro build credit with the people of NYS. It’s molinaro’s job alone to build that credit. Besides the ‘so-called’ debates are just joint press conferences and shoutfests.
He’s so smug and confident that he’s got the race in the bag, he can refuse.....................
Hold a debate with an empty chair.
He can’t chance getting bumped off the idiot wave in NY.
Cuomo’s opponent really IS Donald Trump. There was a time when Cuomo could have petitioned Donald trump for donations, and Trump would have responded positively.
But The Donald became much less even-handed in his political support, as he saw the Democrats, or their successors, the Democrat Socialists, the social justice warriors that took over the party structure, hijack the government of New York City and New York State.
There is a political theory, that whenever one governing philosophy completely vanquishes its opposition, that within that oligarchy, a new countervailing philosophy arises as a renewed opposition.
The current composition of the power structure in New York is fast approaching the point where they begin eating their own.
“#WalkAway” is a very real phenomenon. Even in New York.
New York is a one party state so this comes as no surprise.
Tactically, I agree with you, but I think the RNC and DNC should get an agreement that at least all senatorial and gubernatorial candidates agree to at least 1 debate, though I don’t know if there’s any way to enforce it. If you can’t defend your ideas in a public forum, you’re in the wrong line of work (or you have dumb ideas, or both).
I’ve seen ads claiming Molinaro was taking kickbacks and stealing tax payer money, accusing him of corruption.
And in tiny print, says *Paid for by Cuomo*.
I about fell off my chair laughing.
CUOMO of ALL people accusing someone of corruption in politics?
For real?
The GOP in NYS [my state unfortunately] is the breeding ground for RINOs.
We had no Primary Election choice for the hand selected ruling elite GOP candidate.
To make matters worse, in my county, we have Collins {r} who has been indicted and the @$T@& Erie County GOP “claimed” he could not be removed from the ballot and of course there were no provisions to replace him in the Primary other than a write in which of course is useless.
Which is why conservatives need to find and run DINOs in ‘Rat primaries....
The best I can do, and have encouraged others, is make sure to vote Conservative for any candidate who is endorsed on both the Republican and Conservative line.
In NYS we need to eliminate the GOP ruling elite RINOs and give real Conservatives a chance.
There is rarely a time when a right wing voter is given a choice in a NYS primary election. The backroom decisions are just as corrupt as the commie democrats.
He’s afraid New York’s voterfraud fraud system isn’t good enough.
Why should he? It was a mistake for Stephen Douglas to debate Abraham Lincoln. It was a mistake for Richard Nixon to debate Jack Kennedy. It was a mistake for Hillary Clinton to debate Donald Trump. Its not Cuomos job to help Molinaro build credit with the people of NYS. Its molinaros job alone to build that credit. Besides the so-called debates are just joint press conferences and shoutfests
For a newbie, it’s a good point. If I was a big front runner, I too would think, why give this guy publicity.
I can only reply:
Help Stop the Homo,
Vote Against Cuomo!
