Why? They have fought alongside the Syrian Kurds since Kobane. That was almost 5 years ago.
Syriac Christians have their own force within the SDF now, but they were in the YPG from the beginning. (I’m told that some of them are still in YPG units)

I was told of the YPG saving these villages before I actually read this article. The author is probably not welcome on FR from what some here told me, but the tale is true.
Don’t let Turkish propaganda shape your opinion of the Kurds.
