I just checked it out. I don’t plan on using insurance. If something really bad happens I plan on dying. I didn’t mention this before, but we’ve not had health care insurance since the day Obamacare came into effect, 1/1/2014. In that time we’ve had one serious illness. It lasted a month and got worse and worse. I finally told my wife to schedule an MRI before we went to a specialist, but that night I laid hands on her and prayed on Jesus’ faith that she be healed. The next day it was completely gone. This is the second miracle healing for us.

The Lord will take us when he’s good and ready, and life is an adventure. Some of that time may be spent with less than optimum limbs, organs, mental capacity, etc. Cancer or similar will not be treated. Life is a mist.

Of course it’s your life and your choice. If you don’t take Medicare B at 65, they charge you when you do enroll. Don’t think you have a choice with Medicare A—that’s automatic and covers (I think) hospitalization. Two years ago I was diagnosed with a “moderately aggressive” form of prostate cancer that without treatment would likely spread to the bones which I’ve been told is very unpleasant.

Had the prostate removed. Medicare B and a Supplemental Plan covered everything. Recent PSA tests show that there are still some of the little bastards around, so I go in for radiation treatments in the next few weeks. Prognosis is good, but without Medicare B & Supplemental Plan I’d be out tens of thousands. Except for gout, I’ve enjoyed very good health, up until the cancer diagnosis. Just saying, you never know.
