He was 22 when both parents died within a year of each other (?) and made some very mature decisions about his future and his sister.
Apparently, the voters of SC respect him for his life and service.

Graham’s single status has much to do with his complicated family life, his friends say. As a college student at the University of South Carolina, both of his parents died within 15 months when his sister, Darline, was barely a teenager. He returned home from school on the weekends to take care of her, later becoming his sister’s legal guardian as he entered the Air Force in 1982 so she could receive medical benefits.

Got to admit I was one of them. Hated the way he always supported that traitor McCain. In fact , never saw anything that he did as supportive of the conservative agenda. That is until the Kavanagh Hearing. Changed my mind as to who was actually in there. Liked what I saw. So my apologies to Senator Graham and others here on FR for my narrow perspective.
With friends like McCain, who needs enemies?
I too was sucked into the ‘ridiculing Senator Graham’ until I read his bio and found respect for the goals he set and the journey he took, beginning at such a young age.

He should be openly ridiculed for his constant lying and hysterical drama queen behavior: teenage girl eye-rolling, fake tears, constant jazz hands, constant fainting and pearl-clutching with fake outrage, etc. He’s a total buffoon, he needs to be ridiculed constantly.

I don’t care if Graham is into swinging, orgies, or likes guys as long as he keeps doing his job like he did with the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings-but I’ve never thought Graham was a homosexual-more like really shy and lacking confidence where women are concerned.
One of my neighbors who moved here from SC 3-4 years ago told me it is whispered in SC that Graham has been in a relationship for years-with a woman who is separated from her husband but remains legally married for family financial reasons-so she and Graham keep the relationship on the lowdown. Don’t know if that is true, but the same was/is said of Condi Rice and a married man-once a sneaky paparazzi got a photo of them at some resort in the Keys, with his arm around her waist and it was in one of the tabloids-then it disappeared-I’m sure her boss GWB had something to do with that...
