I know the article says the kid missed the bus, but how does a 14 year old get lost walking to school? Is he retarded?
Small concern, in comparison to the substantial evidence of a bad shoot.
If the kid had taken the bus a lot, he really may not have known the way there.

IIRC, he was new to the neighborhood. Had moved there recently.
I moved from a city in Eastern PA to a small town in NC when I was 12. I didn’t know where anything was for a while.
In fact, an NC State Trooper arrested me not long after I arrived in NC, because he thought I was a runaway.
He asked me where I lived, and I instinctively said the name of my former home in PA. I was hanging around a local truck stop at the time, fascinated by all the big rigs.
When I said I lived in PA, he put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5.
Article doesn’t say, but I’m betting he usually had some other form of transportation (bus or parent’s car, or maybe with another kid) and missed that somehow, so he decided to walk.
Hey, I have done that. And I have gotten lost! I am neither a moron nor a genius, just a normal adult (cue my husband’s laughter at this point) with a rather dicey sense of direction.
trayvon was just walking home with skittes and watermelon soda.
“Is he retarded?”
I guess it’s possible he has a disability of some kind.
