Lol. Oh, she wants to eat, all right! And once a day she gets her fruit in milk, and she talks to me like Im the greatest thing in the world and Ive just given her manna from the gds. And then after dinner (protein first!) she gets her ice cream.... she is in heaven! Lol. But she pushes the main course around the plate like a toddler... ;)
Suggestion my dear from this almost 85 year old. If your Mom isn’t diabetic let her have the sweeter food. Sugar does not cause diabetes. The fruit in milk is good and so is the ice cream. As we age we start to lose our taste, especially for the “regular” food. I used to love potatoes any way they are fixed. I find that I not longer care for them. I’ve never been a meat eater, so an occasional hamburger is about it now. Veggies are a problem too. If I have to eat them I cook them with a bit of sugar. Yes, I’m a sugar freak too. I take a lot of vitamins to make up for the lack of nutrition, especially Vit-C. I’m never sick and feel no different than when I was 30. So try sweetening Mom’s food just a tad. It won’t hurt her. God bless you for caring for her so well.
