Most people today don't realize that what is called the modern school is a recent phenomenon. Prior to the development of large cities, the home was the school, and the sons & daughters learned their apprenticeship from their parents.

And to top it off while the officials will condescend to question if they parents are qualified to be "teachers", at least the kids are not being exposed to the overflowing cauldron of wickedness & perversions that runs amok in public schools including mass school shootings!

Universal organized public education, in Europe anyway, was an invention of the late 17th century, by Jean Baptiste de La Salle, who created what amount to the modern parochial schools. This was taken up on a more secular basis by various Prussian monarchs.
