In the Lawrence v Texas case, the caller to 911 was the jilted (and physically abused) boyfriend of one of the men. He wasn't a homophobic neighbor. Eventually he was murdered while waiting for his abuse case against his boyfriend went through the courts. He went to jail for a couple of weeks for swatting the couple.
In the Pulse nightclub shooting Obama said it wa because of right wing opposition to same sex marriage but the shooter was a bisexual muslim who'd been to the club on numerous occasions and who's wife knew he went there. His stated reason for his terrorist attack was as a response to Obama’s drone strikes on muslims.
