So Kavenaugh agreed with Garland 93% of the time, but is that really distressing? The court hears a lot of mundane cases that result in unanimous decisions, so without knowing what those 7% are it's a meaningless statistic.
During the 2016-2017 Supreme Court session Thomas agreed with Ginsburg 60% of the time. Meaningless.

The 93% figure isn't a big deal unless you look closely at the details of individual cases. During the 2016-17 term when Merrick Garland's nomination was left hanging, the U.S. Supreme Court issued UNANIMOUS decisions in 57% of its rulings.

President Trump made a shrewd choice in Kavanaugh for a number of reasons. In addition to PapaBear3625's Merrick Garland stats and xzins' factual account of his Roe precedent on precedent, Kavanaugh's 12 years on the bench were sterling and he was a Bushie, which came in very handy once the sh!t hit the fan.
I think abortion is safe under Roe's precedent. Susan Collins and the others can clutch their pearls when it's over turned or severely curtailed under the right to "Life" in our Constitution.

The author certainly understands that at the Court(s) of Appeals, most decisions merely affirm or reverse decisions from the lower court, usually with little to no explanation. So 93% of the 93% were simply affirming/reversing what the lower court ruled. They’re not constitutional challenges that would possibly have shown marked contrasts between Kavanaugh and Garland.
