Stacey Abrams accuses GOP foe of voter suppression as Georgia breaks voter-registration record

Stacey Abrams, the Democratic candidate for Georgia governor, continued Sunday to accuse her Republican opponent of voter suppression even though the state recently broke its voter-registration record on his watch.

Ms. Abrams alleged that Republican Secretary of State Brian Kemp has stalled 53,000 voter-registration forms as part of a “pattern of behavior” aimed at gaming the election in the GOP’s favor.

“It’s part of a pattern of behavior where he tries to tilt the playing field in his favor or in the favor of his party,” the Georgia House Minority Leader told NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “This should not require the erosion of public trust.”

Mr. Kemp has blasted the voter-suppression claim, calling it “incredibly dishonest” and pointing out that the 53,000 voters whose registrations were flagged for discrepancies may still cast ballots.

“The 53,000 Georgians on our ‘pending’ list can vote in the November 6th election,” said Mr. Kemp in a Wednesday post. “Her dark money voter registration group submitted sloppy forms. Now, they are faking outrage for political gain.”

Interesting to see how this plays out. She will get Obama level black support like Gilliam in Florida. If enough whites buy in they win just like Obama. Will see, but I’m glad the democrats abandoned this strategy with Crooked- Kaine ticket. A black might have sealed the deal for Crooked. Will see...

They tried to tell us that Georgia was a toss up in 2016, too. Bunch of liars.

I never understood how GA was a toss up in 2016.

Before I retired I worked in an office with predominately black women. I remember how excited they were to vote in 2008 and 2012 for Obama.

But in 2016 it was as if there wasn’t even an election. Almost no talk about voting for Hillary.

I knew Hillary would not get the black vote in GA that Obama did.

The manure will be flying through the air the upcoming 3 weeks as democrats scrape the bottom of their Dirty Tricks Barrels looking for a Blue Wave.

Sounds like 53,000 voter fraud registrations. Feign outrage when caught.

Her voters are even dumber. They’ll vote for her ONLY because she’s black. They don’t care about her lack of financial saavy, her debt or anything else about her.

She’s black. And for her voters, that’s enough for them. Crazy
