It’s legal when Democrats and Democrat donors do it.

It’s a crime against humanity when Republicans do it.

The income tax was created by super wealthy progressives for the benefit of super wealthy progressives, and to the detriment of the middle class. If progressives don’t like it, why not go back to Constitutional taxation? Tax profits and corporations, not individuals. Tax consumption, but not private residences. Let’s do it, progressives!

((Crickets))

I guess not.

I’ve been in the accounting/finance field for more than twenty years now, and it seems strange that using depreciation/amortization expense to write off one’s taxes is suddenly newsworthy, forgive me.

If it’s legal, it’s not really a tax dodge, except in case of Republicans when someone wants to make a headline.

My wife had a boss years ago who was a big high-tax liberal. But he arranged things to pay the least amount of taxes that he could each year. He [rightly] said he didn’t owe anymore than the minimum the law required.

It won’t matter that it’s legal, the left, will still scream bloody murder and not point out that it’s legal.
