i have always felt an unsung hero of the Revolution was Amiral de Grasse. Whipping the English at the Chesapeake certainly sealed Cornwallis’ fate. We never hear his name.
Highly recommend Barbara Tuchman’s “First Salute” about French involvement in our Revolutionary War in the context of their European politics and battles.
Whom I am really proud of is my great grandfather , who fought at and survived Shiloh .
