I was never on FB, and I don’t care much for ‘social media’.
But what do we know about this MeWe?
Who owns it? What is it’s purpose? How do you know this isn’t more of the same, and there isn’t some evolutionary life cycle (or should I call it devolutionary?) where it gets more liberal over time?
Also, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, facebook is quite beatable. They have their hooks into a LOT of people right now, which is their great advantage, but besides mySpace, people forget that FB wasn’t really new. It was actually just a take-off of LiveJournal, which already had friending, post feeds, and customization profiles. It just didn’t focus as much on the school/organization groups, and it didn’t feature the newsfeed style of sharing & posting. There is nothing special about facebook except for how big it is
