Trump says he has 'no intention' of shutting down Mueller probe

President Trump said he has “no intention” of shutting down special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

“60 Minutes” host Lesley Stahl asked Trump in an interview that aired Sunday if he would pledge not to shut down probe.

“Well, I don’t pledge anything,” Trump said. “But I will tell you, I have no intention of doing that. I think it’s a very unfair investigation because there was no collusion of any kind.”

When pressed on why he wouldn't make a pledge, Trump said he didn’t want to.

“Why should I pledge to you? If I pledge, I'll pledge. I don't have to pledge to you,” the president said.

— 60 Minutes (@60Minutes) October 14, 2018 Trump repeatedly attacks the probe and calls it a “hoax” and “witch hunt.”

“60 Minutes” noted that as many as 32 people have been charged or pled guilty in the investigation as of Sunday.

The president's personal legal team is reportedly preparing written answers to the questions submitted by Mueller.

The special counsel's office has been locked in a battle with the Trump legal team to have Trump answer Mueller's questions regarding possible collusion and obstruction of justice.

President Trump had nothing to gain from doing this interview. I wish he’d ignore has-been media like 60 minutes and the NYT, but they made a big impression on him growing up, I guess.

32 people have been charged or pled guilty...

"charged OR", not "charged AND."

Letting them make fools of themselves may be reward enough for some folks. I want my wasted tax dollars back.

Whenever spurious allegations such as this are made, the immediate response should be: name them. No way the accuser could.

How many of those people have been charged with “collusion” or anything to do with the campaign?

Biggest political scandal in American history and the media just completely ignores it and engages in sidebar crap like Kanye West and how Melania's hat somehow represents colonialism and is offensive to Africans.

The Epoch Times produced a complete flow-chart graphic outlining everything. You have people like Sean Hannity, who's not a journalist in the traditional sense, doing yeoman's work, grinding, giving everyone the facts on what really happened.

It's a total, utter disgrace. We know Obama spied on Trump because this is the same Obama that unsealed Jack Ryan's divorce records so he could win his Senate seat. And did the same to Rosen of Fox News and the AP.

“60 Minutes” noted that as many as 32 people have been charged or pled guilty in the investigation as of Sunday.

This is exactly how the Democratic Media Complex operates.

They plant the idea 32 people loosely associated with Trump are somehow 'guilty' of something.

Media people know what they're going. They're schooled in psychological manipulation of the public.

It's a statement that is planted and left unchallenged so in the mind of the public it must be true.

from the headline which I’m not using, to the url, to the zillion interruptions by Stahl, one sentence stands out:

14 Oct: CBS: 60 Minutes Transcript
President Donald Trump: Lesley, it’s okay. In the meantime, I’m president—and you’re not.
