If you look back at his interviews from 20 and 30 years ago, he’s the same way: “America’s getting screwed and I hate seeing that”. The guy loves his country.

yep. he’s been consistent for 30+ years.
He’s sticking up for the Plumbers, electricians, construction workers, glass cutters, stonecutters, etc, who built his hotels. As well as the receptionists, bellhops, maids, Cooks, Blackjack dealers, etc, who work in his hotels. These people have gotten screwed for decades along with the rest of working-class America. The Democrats abandoned them 50 years ago, once they got taken over by the Marxist hippies, and the Republicans never cared about them. And most politicians from both parties have barely have any contact with these kinds of people.
