Ancestry updated my estimates from the DNA sample. Now it's 70% England/Wales/Northwestern Europe, 29% Ireland/Scotland, 1% Finnish. That's from the "spit" test. My family history records agree closely with those results. Ancestry found genetic matches to family we didn't know we had. The big surprise is they had family photographs that I had never seen of people I had met in person on a family vacation in 1967. I give them a thumb's up on validity of matching routines based on that experience.

Isn’t that fun? I started out knowing nothing and now I have a huge family tree tracing back to our arrival starting in the 1600s. Everything I’ve found tracks with the DNA update.
