I agree. I think a gauge would be on whether the troops look forward to the CINC’s visit. I was in Ft Campbell in 2001 when Bush came and the troops were excited. In 2002 I was in Oman when Cheney visited and there was a same level of excitement.
I believe the Troops would look forward to a visit from Trump.
