Phelim McAleer, the Irish-born filmmaker who produced the new film "Gosnell" with his partner, Ann McElhinney, said the now-imprisoned Dr. Kermit Gosnell was "America's most prolific serial killer."
The film, which features "What's Happening" star Earl Billings as the namesake abortion doctor and "Superman" Dean Cain as a Philly detective, opened this weekend to few formal reviews but an unexpectedly high attendance, Martha MacCallum reported.
Gosnell, who ran the infamous clinic at 3801 Lancaster Ave. in the Powelton Village section of West Philadelphia for decades, was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Good for anyone going to see that movie.
I know I couldn't take it.
If you dont want to see it at least buy a ticket or two.
I've seen it, and I can assure you it is gore-free. (Not just AlGore, either.)
Have you ever seen an episode of Law & Order? It is just like that, a "procedural": first the focus is on the crime being uncovered by police, then it shifts to the perps being prosecuted in court.
Are there sections where the imagination of an educated viewer creates mental images one would rather not have? Yes. But this is what makes the crime a crime - the damage inflicted upon an innocent.
If we're ever going to fight against these horrible practices, we need to toughen up - we can't win by being marshmallows. Even given this truth, the "Gosnell" movie doesn't set horrible requirements in that department at all.
Your mindset is wrong. I totally understand the initial concern but as described to you, this is a murder trial. The movie is rated PG-13. You are not going to see anything that will give you nightmares. In fact Ive seen way worse as far as graphics.
It will however impart critical information and force people to think. It is very emotional yes. It is heartbreaking. But I strongly feel we owe it to those babies and to those women who died by this monstors hands to view and support this movie. In fact, I went home and bought the book.
Anyone on the fence, please go see it. I promise you can take it.
