I had a great aunt in Kimball, just west of Potter.
Rattlesnake would be a more common ingredient in chili. 30 years ago, a worker on her ranch was bit in the face wile inspecting one of her oil wells.
My daughter was saved once by Potter, NE! Driving east from college in Laramie, WY. Coming home for a holiday in bad weather. She got behind a state snow plow and ended up off the road in the median. SEVERAL people in the town worked together to help her out, fed her, put her up overnight. They were amazing.
She sent a thank you note to “People of Potter, NE” and addressed it to “The Café”... or along that line.
