HOUSTON David Price picked the perfect time to book his first career playoff win as a starting pitcher. It sent the Boston Red Sox to the World Series. Arguably the worst postseason starter in baseball history, Price shut out a flat Houston Astros team for six innings Thursday night en route to a 4-1 victory in a pennant-clinching Game 5 of the American League Championship Series. The Red Sox, who won a franchise-record 108 games during the regular season, will host the winner of the Los Angeles Dodgers-Milwaukee Brewers National League Championship Series in Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday. The 33-year-old Price, working on three days rest, kept the Astros off-balance with an inside-and-outside, up-and-down command of the strike zone. He struck out nine, walked none and allowed three hits, with 65 of his 93 pitches going for strikes. His changeup, in particular, was devastatingly effective, inducing 11 swings and misses, including four for strikeouts. inal three outs to send Boston to its fourth World Series iHOUSTON David Price picked the perfect time to book his first career playoff win as a starting pitcher. I like your new tagline, btw. Very clever!
Very sorry I didn't notice the fans behind the plate! Hard for me to get past the batters' reactions. If you look at the batters' faces, Kimbrel's albatross-yoga pose really does screw with their concentration. Even some of the MLB veteran batters' eyes are big as saucers. Others look like WTF is that?
Kimbrel may look like a loon n the mound, but the look is very effective.
Thanks for comment about the tagline...

You are right, of course. Great pic of "albatross yoga pose" Kimbrel there, lol. Although I'm sure he looks even more fearsome now with that awful long red beard!
2007 Red Sox Champion closer Jonathan Papelbon had a somewhat similar fierce pose and stare, but it was nowhere as weird as Kimbrel's! ;-)
Very interesting, thanks. I saw that dirty hit on Aguilar's ankle/foot by Manny the other night... outrageous! And there was Machado yelling at his former teammate Aguilar as if HE did something wrong! Machado is a POS, and has been for a long time. Glad he was fined, but I assume $10K is chump change for him.
The Brewers were such a classy team (maybe except for Ryan Braun). I was sorry to see them lose in Game 7. I don't know which team would have been more difficult for the Red Sox, but we were rooting for the Brewers to win the NL title.
