WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange sues Ecuador for 'violating his rights'
Sky ^

Julian Assange is launching legal action against Ecuador, accusing its government of violating his "fundamental rights and freedoms".

It comes after Ecuador cut off communications for Mr Assange, who has been living inside the country's London embassy for more than six years.

WikiLeaks claims Mr Assange's access to the outside world has been "summarily cut off" and says Ecuador has threatened to remove the protection he has had since being given political asylum.

This investigation has been dropped, but Mr Assange fears he could be extradited to the US over WikiLeaks' publishing of huge amounts of classified information.

Lawyers for Mr Assange have said they will also challenge the legality of the Ecuador government's "special protocol", which make his political asylum contingent on "censoring" his freedom of opinion, speech and association.

The Ecaudorans can settle this by shoving Mr. Assange out onto the sidewalk.

“The Ecaudorans can settle this by shoving Mr. Assange out onto the sidewalk.”

It kind of sounds like Assange is biting the hand that feeds him. I would like him to be a free citizen in a free country and able to continue his good work. We need more whistleblowers to help drain the swamp.

They need to escort him out the door.

Trump should offer him free passage to the United States and a pardon for any offenses he may have committed. Without Wikileaks, we would not know just what a bucket of $hit our government really is.

I agree, but doubt he will.

It’s probably not wise to sue the only country that offered you asylum and can revoke it at any time...

Look after cat, clean bathroom if you want internet.

Sounds like a over-stayed house guest with a serious hygiene problem. Not even family (IIRC).

How long would any of us put up with this?

Trump almost certainly has good experience with guests that exhibit serious hygiene issues. (/snort)

AG Jeff Sessions has stated, he already has charges against Assange drawn up. The US recently promised $$$ and military assets to Ecuador with the intent of getting their hands on Assange.

I am sure that the US is sending a message to truth tellers with their support of Assange’s mistreatment.

“AG Jeff Sessions has stated, he already has charges against Assange drawn up.”

Consider the source! Sessions has been 180 degrees out of sync with Trump since the day he was appointed. NEVER in my life have I seen a bigger Quisling than Sessions. I’d drink a toast any morning I wake up and read that he’s died!

Yeah, I don’t think so. If anything, Assange is more likely to side WITH the Swamp to take out Trump. Maybe this should act as a refresher about how he’s not only notoriously anti-American, but also a Marxist-Leninist as well:

Seriously, it would be like asking for Che Guevara to clean up Washington right now.
