Yes, and this is the real problem this nation faces on many fronts. When past history is edited out of education, stupidity then takes on evil actions without evil being the motive. I doubt if most of the CNN reporters even know much, if anything, about polio. In my day, people were threatened with death from infection and disease from birth. Most didn’t have time to think about trying to ruin the lives of others for they were too occupied with trying to save their own and those of their children. Some have said that victory over disease and affluent lives which provide lots of private time actually pave the way for people to seek pleasure in evil. Perhaps hardship is a kind of salvation from worse things.
