Vote Against America, Vote Democrat
Townhall.com ^ | October 20, 2018 | Michael Reagan

The midterms are coming up in a couple of weeks, in case you hadn't noticed. I'm living out here in California, but I'm sure the same thing is going on across the country.

All the Democrats in federal and statewide races are not running for anything, they're all running against Donald Trump.

It's a pretty desperate - and stupid - strategy by the Democrats that's based on their deranged hatred of President Trump.

It hard to watch the Dems' illogic.

To be against Trump means you have to be against lower income taxes, against an economy growing at 4.2 percent, against unemployment being down to 3.6 percent, against more blacks and Latinos working than ever before and against more people getting off food stamps.

Here in California, where we have Gavin Newsom running for governor to replace Jerry Brown, it's especially absurd.

Newsom is the former mayor of San Francisco, a city now known around the world for its squalid homeless encampments and sidewalks covered in used drug needles and human feces.

Thanks to the social policies of Newsom and his fellow "progressive" Democrats, one of the world's prettiest cities has literally been turned into a s-hole. Los Angeles is not far behind.

Democrats' one-party rule has also wrecked a once great and Golden State. Our state taxes are obscene, our infrastructure is crumbling, our poverty rate has soared, our public schools -- once ranked first in the country - are now No. 46.

Over-taxed and over-regulated businesses are fleeing in droves to Nevada or Texas. People are moving out because they can't afford to live here anymore.

And meanwhile, you have the super-liberal Newsom - who'll make Jerry Brown look like my father -- running for governor by running against Trump?

Unfortunately, Newsom is probably going to win. He's up by 5 points over Republican John Cox, which isn't that bad in a state where registered Democrats outnumber Republicans 54 to 26 percent.

But the Republican National Committee has given up on California. It's spending no money to help Cox.

It's extremely frustrating to watch how Democrats around the country have turned the midterms into a referendum on Donald Trump's persona.

They and their biased friends in the mainstream media make the president out to be pure evil.

As I've said a million times, you might not like Trump personally or like what he says or tweets.

But you don't have to sleep with him. Or eat dinner with him. Or visit his house.

Trump's economic success cannot be denied - unless you work for CNN or MSNBC.

Isn't America better off after his first two years? Isn't the economy better? Don't you have more money in your pocket after taxes? A bigger 401(k)? A better job?

The Democrats will try to un-do everything Trump has done.Do you realize what will happen if they retake control of the House of Representatives for the next two years?

The president won't be signing Republican legislation, he'll be vetoing Democrat legislation.

The Democrats are able to peddle their Hate Trump message for one reason -- they get 24/7 help from the biased mainstream media.

The liberal media bash the president every day, demeaning his successes at home and abroad.

The only places you regularly hear reports about our strong economy are on the Fox cable channels, Newsmax or conservative talk radio.

So, my advice to America's voters for the midterms is pretty simple.

If you want your city to become a homeless hell like San Francisco, vote Democrat.

If you want your state to become a fiscal and social wreck like California, vote Democrat.

If you want to return to a stagnant economy, higher taxes and open our borders to caravans of illegal immigrants from Honduras, vote Democrat.

Unless you're dying to know what it's like to live in Venezuela, you'll be sorry.

Voters need to send a message to stop the rage and hate.
The media has trained the country to whine and complain about everything under the sun. They are monsters of hate!

I became politically aware when John Hanoi Kerry started calling Viet Nam Veterans “baby killers and war criminals” I will not vote for a demonicrat ever. It seems most of them belong in jail. 1000 new cells at GITMO in promising. Liberals need to clean up their own act. Liberals are in a 20-27% minority and do not have any right to rule over us.

Socialist Democrats are like locusts, they spread outward and destroy. Then they invite in more locusts. They leave the hellholes they have created and turn their new homes into new hellholes.

I take it back; they are a cancer.

Thank you for posting Michael Reagan's words.

We, and youth of this nation, as American citizens, have been lulled into inaction on protecting the ideas underlying our Constitution. As a result, the future liberty of generations to come is at risk.

The time has come to give so-called "Millenials" the only real history lesson they may have ever heard regarding the ideas of liberty underlying their Constitution's limitations on government power.

Perhaps a member of the very first Supreme Court, one appointed by none other than President Washington, may have left words of wisdom for such a time as this:

"The only real security of liberty, in any country, is the jealousy and circumspection of the people themselves. Let them be watchful over their rulers. Should they find a combination against their liberties, and all other methods appear insufficient to preserve them, they have, thank God, an ultimate remedy. That power which created the government can destroy it. Should the government, on trial, be found to want amendments, those amendments can be made in a regular method, in a mode prescribed by the Constitution itself [...]. We have [this] watchfulness of the people, which I hope will never be found wanting." - Elliot, 4:130 - Justice James Iredell (NC) - Appointed by Pres. Washington to first US Supreme Court

The time may have come for a rejection of the tired old ideas of tyranny which dominate so-called "progressive" politics of 2016.

Rather than being dispirited, we might examine what the Founders of the American Republic called, the role of "Divine Providence," whose pathway to the minds and hearts of youth can bypass even the most ardent and determined efforts of those so-called "progressives."

Now that "progressive/socialistic" politicians have captured their attention, these Republicans, who have called themselves "conservatives," have some responsibility for directing attention of youth to the ideas of the Founders, all to be found online now, not in some dark stacks on remote floors of university libraries.

For instance, a recent year's Sons of Liberty portrayal of Samuel Adams might allow these "Republican leaders" to introduce to Millenials his clearly-articulated understanding of liberty versus tyranny, as well as Adams clear understanding of the dangers of something he called "leveling"--today's "progressive" idea of "equalizing."

"The liberties of our Country, the freedom of our civil constitution are worth defending at all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have receiv'd them as a fair Inheritance from our worthy Ancestors: They purchas'd them for us with toil and danger and expence of treasure and blood; and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle; or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men. Of the latter we are in most danger at present: Let us therefore be aware of it. Let us contemplate our forefathers and posterity; and resolve to maintain the rights bequeath'd to us from the former, for the sake of the latter. - Instead of sitting down satisfied with the efforts we have already made, which is the wish of our enemies, the necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude, and perseverance. Let us remember that "if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom." It is a very serious consideration, which should deeply impress our minds, that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers of the event." Samuel Adams - Essay in the Boston Gazette, October 14, 1771

"When designs are form'd to raze the very foundation of a free government, those few who are to erect their grandeur and fortunes upon the general ruin, will employ every art to sooth the devoted people into a state of indolence, inattention and security, which is forever the fore-runner of slavery." - Article signed "Candidus," in Boston Gazette, December 9, 1771

"If the public are bound to yield obedience to laws to which they cannot give their approbation, they are slaves to those who make such laws and enforce them." Samuel Adams- As Candidus in the Boston Gazette, January 20, 1772

"The right to freedom being the gift of God Almighty, it is not in the power of man to alienate this gift and voluntarily become a slave... These may be best understood by reading and carefully studying the institutes of the great Law Giver and Head of the Christian Church, which are to be found clearly written and promulgated in the New Testament." Samuel Adams - Rights of the Colonists, November 20, 1772

"It is the greatest absurdity to suppose it in the power of one, or any number of men, at the entering into society, to renounce their essential natural rights, or the means of preserving those rights; when the grand end of civil government, from the very nature of its institution, is for the support, protection, and defence of those very rights; the principal of which, as is before observed, are Life, Liberty, and Property. If men, through fear, fraud, or mistake, should in terms renounce or give up any essential natural right, the eternal law of reason and the grand end of society would absolutely vacate such renunciation. The right to freedom being the gift of God Almighty, it is not in the power of man to alienate this gift and voluntarily become a slave." - The Rights of the Colonists, November 20, 1772

"Is it now high time for the people of this country to explicitly declare whether they will be free men or slaves. It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns more than anything in this life. The salvation of our souls is interested in this event. For wherever tyranny is established, immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent, it is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice.” - Samuel Adams

And, as it pertains to Clinton/Sanders' "free stuff schemes":

“The utopian schemes of leveling and a community of goods, are as visionary and impractical as those which vest all property in the crown. These ideas are arbitrary, despotic, and, in our government unconstitutional.” - Samuel Adams
