Wrong.
This 'other protest' came from Czech gymnast Vera Caslavska as a reaction to the Soviet-led invasion of her country two months earlier.

A friend of mine swam there. That was almost 50 years ago. TET 68 was a marker in history also.

How cowardly and odd to compare the pro-Soviet Tommy Smith's act of risk-free treason to his own free country to this girl's heroic, sacrificial challenge to the same Soviets--the genocidal oppressors who hated others' liberty even more than the BBC does.
