Charlie Wilkins, Portland pro skateboarder, mistaken for Antifa protester in viral video

Portland professional skateboarder Charlie Wilkins faced violent threats on social media Thursday after video of an Oct. 13 protest went viral that showed an Antifa protester yelling at a woman.

"Your husband, should probably ... rot in the grave," the man rants at the woman, who claimed to be a 9/11 widow.

The man in the video resembles Wilkins, but the skateboarder insists it's not him.

He and his wife Victoria say they avoid protests and were at a pumpkin patch that day.

"I just think he's horrible to say that to anybody," Wilkins told KGW, referring to the protester in the video. "I would never say that to anybody."

Brandon Farley, who shot the video of the protest, weighed in on Wilkins' behalf, tweeting:

"I don't want to ruin an innocent man's life! Stop this thoughtless tirade, immediately! Get the facts! He's not the guy in my videos. Keep searching or move on, please."

Gee, I bet most of the time being a pro skateboarder is a good life. Most of us fall but those pros get paid to fall. Of course they get paid to nail their stunts but it takes lots and lots of falls to get there.

Some fool posted his name on Twitter and I told that person he or she better be certain before posting that stuff. I even tweeted to the skateboard magazine he works for to tell them to clarify the story. Social media is tearing this country apart.

Social media is tearing this country apart.

"Social media" is neither.

Ir is anti-social and leftist.

“I bet most of the time being a pro skateboarder is a good life.”

Tony Hawk would agree with you . He’s worth north of $100 million.

What Farley was, in essence, recommending.

There have been professional skateboarders since at least back in the late-1970s.

Why should that be any more unbelievable or outrageous than the fact that there are professional pom-pom girls (NFL cheerleaders), professional pet beauticians, and professional pool cleaners.

Skateboarding is a legitimate sport, and a billion-dollar industry.

I have a good friend who almost went pro in the late 70s. He had a skateboard company ready to endorse him if he would go on the circuit full time. He decided he liked playing drums better, quit boarding and joined our band instead. In retrospect it might have been a mistake. But we did have lot of fun.

It’s the accusation that’s important, not the facts.
Isn’t that what the Dims taught us?
This guy will just have to take one for his team.
