As did I. However, it may not be news at all. ASA has apparently posted this on several threads without replying as to his sources - but, in his defense, it may not just be fake or wishful thinking, rather originate from a connection from the ‘old days’ about which he cannot reveal nor answer questions on.

Some one said there is no 3rd Calvary Division, but ASA wrote 3rd Calvary Regiment - not the same. I don’t know more than that as to reality or not.

Take with grain of salt for now, but hope it is real.

Just looked this up - there is a

3rd Cavalry Regiment (United States)
U.S. Army armoured regiment
The 3rd Cavalry Regiment, formerly 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment (”Brave Rifles”) is a regiment of the United States Army currently stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

So that part is verified, however, “The 3rd Cavalry Regiment will replace 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division as part of a regular rotation of forces to support Operation Inherent Resolve.” (Iraq).

That was a Spring 2018 deployment. So the whereabouts currently is unknown, or perhaps the bulk is in Iraq and other elements have returned or been rotated back. Just guessing here.
