Move, bro'.
Leave that cesspool if you can make your way.
Years ago, I conversed with a liberal NJ woman that hated the NRA, guns, until she went to a local event.
She got to meet the dreaded NRA types, got to shoot, and it changed her. Ended up (8+ years ago) she wanted to get out of NJ. Looked into getting a handgun and threw up her hands in disgust.
Real estate conditions killed it for her. Hope she found her way out of that sewer.

Can't. Wife and I are too old, trying to retire and hold on to what we've got. Maybe the wife can apply for a long gun permit but she really doesn't want to. As for me, a misdemeanor drug rap from forty years ago precludes ownership. Had a buddy once, Vietnam vet, past away a few years back suggested I go out to Pennsylvania or take a ride to West VA or some place, go to some small town and buy a copy of the local paper. Look up the ads and see if anyone is selling a fire arm.

You never too old. I am 71 and considering relocating to AZ. Wife hates the idea and I understand. Moves are the pits.
I made it clear that if the political forecast got worse, it was a move or my olde ass going up in the hills and doing what damage I could before they got me.

Something tells me this isn’t the kind if sexual assault feminists are outraged about.

then how do you get the from home to office? or from store to home? Not difficult. Put firearm in case. Put case in car trunk. Close car trunk. You're good to go!
"Shall be carried unloaded and contained in a closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package, or locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported, and in the course of travel, shall include only such deviations as are reasonably necessary under the circumstances. The firearm should not be directly accessible from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm and ammunition must be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or console."
Before I met my wife she and her son had a small business and owned a couple of pistols. They ended the business and subsequently let the permits lapse.
Pistol carry permits are pretty much impossible for anyone except for retired LEOs. (Which is why there was a -- small -- group cheer coming from here when Kavanaugh was confirmed!)
If it's your home or your business, you still have the Constitutional right to defend it, even here in the People's Republic. Like North Carolina, permits are required to purchase pistols, but not to own pistols. (Yes, the paperwork is more complicated, by design).
The NJ 1966 Sills Act was rammed through 2 years before the 1968 GCA. Both Democrats and Republicans were responsible. The bill was passed in the wake of the Watts riots in 1965. The idea of armed insurrections among NJ's urban minorities scared the willies out of all the state legislators.
I personally have doubts that the 1966 bill is Constitutional. We will probably find out in the next few years.

Is he here on an over-stayed visa? Long past time to clear out every last wet back and over-stayed visa holder.

This state’s political and law enforcement class is a law and a society unto itself.
