Poll: Republican Mike Braun Surging with Two Weeks Left in Indiana Senate Race
Breitbart ^ | 22 Oct 2018 | Sean Moran

Hoosier businessman and Senate Republican candidate Mike Braun has surged in the Indiana Senate race only two weeks before the November election, according to a poll released on Monday. Sen. Joe Donnelly’s popularity has continued to plummet ever since he decided to vote against Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court. Since the Senate confirmation vote, the incumbent Democrat’s favorability and his polling has bottomed out.

According to a recent poll conducted by the Braun campaign from October 14-17, Braun leads Donnelly by 44 to 40 percent, with seven percent backing Lucy Brenton, and five percent of voters remain undecided.

The survey also found Braun leads with those having the highest level of enthusiasm for voting in the midterm elections, a seven-point advantage with those with high propensity voters, and a seven-point advantage with voters who have an opinion of both candidates.

The poll found that three-factor have led to Donnelly’s increasing vulnerability in the Indiana Senate race, which includes:

Donnelly’s inability to garner more than 40 percent ballot support. Donnelly’s approval ratings have eroded to the point where roughly the same amount of Hoosiers approve as disapprove of the incumbent Donnelly has a net unfavorable rating, while Braun gained a net favorable rating. According to the poll, Braun has a 41 percent favorable rating, while the Hoosier businessman has a 34 percent unfavorable rating. In contrast, Sen. Donnelly has a 42 percent unfavorable rating, while 41 percent of Hoosiers have a negative view of the incumbent Democrat.

Further, 45 percent of Indiana voters believe that Donnelly serves as part of the “problem” in Washington, DC, compared to only 34 percent that the Democrat serves as part of the “solution” to America and Indiana’s problems.

Unseat Tester and it will be a 5 seat pickup in the Senate.

Ran into a lib (a government employee) yesterday who said "two down, one to go" about November. I asked him if he seriously thought the Senate would turn Dem. He said the Republicans have a thin majority and they will lose it. I said how? He said Ted Cruz would lose. I said that's unlikely, but it's much more likely McCaskill and Heitkamp will lose, maybe Tester and Donnelly. He said who are they? Red state Dem senators, I said. Voted against Kavanaugh. He looked dejected after that.

Why Ohio? Brown has had many large leads and there has never been any indication Ohio is competitive.

“And I think the “surge” is just that the polls are finally getting honest as we get closer to the election.”

Or the truth is becoming so obvious, they’re afraid they’ll become the laughing stock again.

OK...I get it. It’s wishful thinking. There’s nothing wrong with that.

I’m exercising serious self control here to be nice. I’m trying to be less contentious on the Internet these days, but some people’s attitudes just make that a chore sometimes.

Please search this guy’s posts at FR. Read his Twitter feed. It has the best analysis of REAL DATA you can find on the Internet. Polls aren’t real data.

He’s using the same data we used in 2016 to handicap this election. Remember the polls then? There wasn’t any indication of winning OH in 16 either if one went by polls. Yet, the same data LS is using here was used to confidently predict a Trump win. Was it ‘wishful thinking’ then?

I would add, I was telling Trump via Bannon to GET OUT of Ohio, because it was won by mid October. Our #s showed a 4-5 point win . . . We were low. It as 9+.

Now, today, the Cuyahoga absentees/ early voting coming in and Ds down 11% Rs “surging” according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer (a D paper). If Ds don’t totally dominate OH out of Cuyahoga, they are finished.

Well, thanks for the self control. I tend to have that effect on others from time to time.

I tried Twitter and excuse my ignorance, but I tried searching on LS and got the Mormon church. #S was no better. Any hints as to how to follow LS' twitter feed? Thank you.

I ran into a lib and suggested they stop trying so hard to derail the Trump agenda. The economy would eventually go into a downturn and they would easily slide back into office. Plus there would be a bigger economy to loot.
