I love this President. I do think he may have been a little too off script in some spots. I think he should’ve chosen his words a little better when discussing the hurricane that hit Houston. He should’ve mentioned the cajun navy and not joked about the hurricane. Just constructive criticism for a President I wholeheartedly support. Maybe he is feeling confident about the midterms.
I’m tempted to watch this myself even if it means a trip to the library!

I have heard that petitions are useless.
The most effective thing is a letter or phone call to your reps, your congressman and senators.
The reasoning is that someone who takes the time to do something like that, especially a letter, is very serious about it and that they consider that for every person who writes, it represents some number of people who don’t say anything.
Email would also be pretty effective, I would think, but I guess the letter has the most impact.
I just read up on contacting your reps.
One danger of email is it being marked as spam and being deleted.
A letter or phone call shows that there’s a real person behind it.
Calling was very effective for homeschoolers during the HR6 debacle.

Trust me I have done that many, many times over many years and will continue to do that.
I was hoping a petition would show that many support securing the border, stopping illegal immigration. Especially support for stopping this newest stunt with the Central Americans.

That’s tantamount to kicking the Lord God in the shins. I wouldn’t recommend that and I don’t think the invader who that really knows the power of the Lord God.
But...Georgia is a great place for conservatives, too. We lived there for 2 years near Macon when hubby was in the service.

An acquaintance of mine who is from Dallas, TX (and now strangely lives here in CT) tells me in the western part of the state, you have far less humidity.
I've never been to that part of Texas (although I've been to New Mexico). So far I've only visited Dallas, Austin, Houston, Galveston and some small towns in between. Oh, and South Fork! ;-)
I didn't know your hubby was in the service. Thank you both for your service and sacrifice!

I live in Odessa. When the Bushes first moved to Texas, their first home was here. Look at it on my homepage. Then when they were doing well, they moved to Midland next door [where I worked for years] and that’s where GW met Laura and married her. I think her mom still lives there in a lovely assisted living facility unless they have moved her to Dallas to be closer to them.
There is almost NO humidity here. However, we did get 1.2 inches of rain last night. Yay!
