The 48 letter threshold of Conservative MPs required to trigger a no confidence vote in Theresa May has been reached.
Thats according to a source who told the Huffington Posts Paul Waugh that the landmark requirement to initiate the process to oust her had now been passed.
Sir Graham Brady, Chairman of the 1922 Committee, will now likely check that before the next step is taken.
Brexit can be saved. Praise the Lord!
Can May be replaced without triggering a national vote?
After she goes, I hope Die Fuhrerin is next.
Isn’t she married to a hedge fund globalist?
Yes she can.
‘No Confidence’ vote now lined up ...
‘The 48 letter threshold of Conservative MPs required to trigger a no confidence vote in Theresa May has been reached.’
The globalist scum trying to scuttle this picked a completely incompetent shrew.
Nero fiddled while Rome burned and May goes to Africa and does the Watusi.
I wonder how many votes the Left in Europe (and Britain) would require before they accepted the results.I thought that the vote that occurred in 2016 would qualify as "The People's Vote".
I recently heard Jacob Rees Mogg make a particularly clever comment in regard to some odious stunt that the EU pulled during the negotiations. He said something like "a club that kicks you in the shins as you're trying to leave probably wasn't worth joining in the first place".
Lemmie see, now.
To run BREXIT, pickup an anti-brexit shrew and have her run things.
Yeah, that works.
I hold no opinions over what kind of government the UK has-that is up to the UK citizenry. But I am not inherently hostile to the monarchy. I do think *my opinion only* that the UK would be better with a written constitution. However, as we have seen, even that is not bulwark enough. I have really been paying attention and learning more about the UK government system since Brexit came to the fore. Anyone who cares about western civilization at all needs to be paying attention to what transpires. I have always felt the ultimate goal of the EU was a federal union that would destroy the ancient nations of Europe and their freedoms. It screams DANGER! to my mind. I wish the UK all the luck in the world in getting loose from this leviathan.
May has been a disaster for the Brits.
I'm no expert in parliamentary systems so I'm asking out of genuine curiosity.
There’s real fear that Labour could win such a vote. A Jeremy Corbyn Prime Ministership would be a catastrophe for the UK and the world.
Shrew...that’s a perfect description for May. She truly is a woman who is an unpleasant person.
Personally, May should have taken Trump up on his offer to write an amazing trade deal with the US, and only then gone into negotiations with the EU. She could have walked in and said "I don't really need you but what are you offering in order to retain access to our markets?" Instead she told Trump to pound sand and was left with the exact opposite experience, going to the EU hat in hand begging for scraps.
The next PM ought to make their first call to Trump and ask if he still is interested in make a nice deal. the second call should be to Brussels to put all Brexit negotiations on hold until the UK/US trade agreement is established. Get some leverage back and then go see how the EU's hardline tactics play.
But I'm mostly ignorant about European politics, it's like watching soccer for me. I sort of understand it in broad strokes but he nuances are lost on me. So I'm probably spouting nonsense. But I do so with zest and panache, so there's that.
The problem with the Trump offer - or rather the UK response to it - was timing. Technically the UK can’t enter into trade deals independently of the EU until it’s no longer a member. May had really no choice but to respond as she did while she was still attempting to secure a cooperative EU approach to the exit negotiatons.
When Theresa May was voted Tory party leader it was expected that her very dullness would be able to unite a then very fractured party.
And so she has united the party — against her.
But can the party stay united long enough to elect an effective leader?
If not, Labour will take over.
So you'll get to send your Land Rovers and Minis to us and we'll get to send our 787s to you.
It may also not be her fault totally.
Damn Euroweenies at the EU council just dont want to let the UK have their freedom. They set up roadblock after roadblock and the UK govt could not manuever. I’m guessing this is whats gonna happen in case TEXAS secedes..
